The Boy They Shouldn't Have Met

Chapter 2 — The Name She Never Spoke

The woman refused to touch the watch again, but she could not look away from it.

The street boy stood perfectly still, as if measuring her reaction.

The rich boy looked up. "Mom… tell me what this is."

She did not answer immediately.

Her voice, when it came, was unstable.

"Where did you get that?"

The boy answered simply.

"From the place I was kept."

Silence spread through the street.

Cars passed. People walked. The world did not care.

But the woman’s breathing changed.

A memory forced itself upward.

A white room.

Two cribs.

A signature she remembered signing without reading fully.

Her hand trembled.

"You were supposed to be…"

She stopped.

Because she realized she did not know what she was supposed to say anymore.

The street boy took one step closer.

"Say it," he said quietly.

The woman shook her head.

But the truth was already rising.

"You were supposed to be one child."

The rich boy froze.

The street boy did not react.

He only said:

"And yet here I am."

Then, from a parked black car across the street, a man stepped out.

And he was watching them as if this moment had already happened before.
